Fort Bend PACK (Performance and Art Center for Kids) is a creative arts community for children and teens ages 3 to 18.
We're starting with theater and growing to include music, dance, visual art, and other creative opportunities. Kids can learn real skills, make work they're proud of, try new things, collaborate with others, and find people who enjoy creating too.
But PACK isn't only about what young people make. We care about the art we make and the people we become while making it. We want kids to know that their ideas matter, that there is more than one way to be creative, and that they don't have to become someone else before they belong here.
Four simple ideas guide how we put that into practice:
We welcome. We connect. We create. We share.
That's PACK.
Performance and Art Center for Kids.
But PACK means something more to us, too. A pack is a group that belongs together, where people bring different strengths, learn from one another, and contribute to something bigger than themselves.
At Fort Bend PACK, there's room for all kinds of artists, all kinds of kids, and all kinds of ways to create.
Discover your spark. Find your PACK.
PACK is for children and teens ages 3–18, the families who support them, and the creative community growing around them.
Young people are at the heart of what we do. Some will arrive with years of experience. Some will be trying an art form for the very first time. Some will know exactly where they want to go, and others will want to wander around and try a little bit of everything. There’s room for all of them here.
Our core programs are organized into four age groups:
Pathfinders: ages 3–6
Explorers: ages 6–10
Wayfinders: ages 10–13
Leaders: ages 13–17
Because those ages intentionally overlap, students can be placed where the program, developmental stage, and individual child fit best.
PACK also includes PACK Life, our homeschool programming, along with workshops, productions, community events, and other opportunities for young people and families to create and connect.
As older students grow beyond our youth programs, we hope to create pathways into mentorship, creative leadership, and other ways to remain part of the PACK community.
Children are at the heart of the work. Community is how the work grows.
Not at all.
PACK programs are designed to welcome young people at different points in their creative lives. Some students will walk in with years of lessons, performances, or art-making behind them. Others will be trying something for the very first time. Some may not even be sure yet whether they consider themselves creative.
All of those kids belong here.
Our instructors meet students where they are, then give them opportunities to learn new skills, take creative risks, and keep growing. Beginners won't be expected to already know the ropes, and experienced students won't simply be asked to do more of what they already know.
You don't have to arrive at PACK already knowing what you're good at.
Finding out is part of the fun.
Kids don't all learn, communicate, move, create, or participate in the same way, and we don't expect them to.
PACK instructors are encouraged to build flexibility into the way they teach. A child may need to move while listening, watch before joining in, take a little longer to answer, approach an activity differently than expected, or step away for a few minutes when things become overwhelming. Those differences are part of working with young people, not problems a child has to fix before they can participate.
Our goal is to change the plan when we can, rather than asking a child to change who they are to fit the plan.
Families know their children well, and we value that partnership. If there is something that helps your child feel safe, comfortable, understood, or ready to create, you're always welcome to tell us. When a child needs support beyond what a particular program can reasonably provide, we'll talk with you openly about what might work.
Every child belongs on the trail. No child should have to become someone else before they are welcomed into our community.
PACK is being built as a multidisciplinary arts center, with opportunities in theater, music, visual art, dance, and other creative disciplines.
Our core programming will include 8-week creative Sessions, where young people can build skills and explore an art form over time. Throughout the year, we'll also offer workshops, productions, camps and school-break programs, special projects, and opportunities to learn from guest artists and Creative Partners.
PACK Life, our homeschool branch, brings creative programming into the daytime with classes, experiences, and opportunities designed especially for homeschool students and families.
And not everything at PACK has to be a class. Community events, service projects, performances, exhibitions, Saturday Spotlights, and other shared experiences will give young people opportunities to make things, share things, meet artists, try something unexpected, and simply spend time around other creative people.
There are lots of ways to create here. You don't have to choose just one.
Yes! PACK Life is our homeschool branch, created specifically with homeschool students and families in mind.
PACK Life brings creative learning into the daytime through arts classes, workshops, special projects, and shared experiences. Programs may include theater, music, visual art, movement, and other opportunities to explore, make, perform, and learn alongside other young people.
Like the rest of PACK, the goal isn't to recreate a traditional school day with art added to the schedule. PACK Life is a place to make things, try things, meet people, and see where curiosity leads.
Programs will continue to grow as PACK does, with offerings shaped in part by the interests and needs of our local homeschool community.
Yes! PACK's first programs are beginning this fall.
Some of our first offerings include Life is a Cabaret, Villain School, and The Order of Odd Ideas with programs beginning just after Labor Day.
We're starting small and growing thoughtfully, so new classes, workshops, performances, and other creative opportunities will continue to be added as they're ready.

You do not need to enroll in an 8-week Session to be part of PACK. Families can participate through workshops, camps, productions, PACK Life experiences, field trips, community events, and other special programs throughout the year.
PACK core classes are $198 per 8-week Session, with no annual commitment. Families receive 15% off additional enrollments, and payment plans are available at no additional cost.
Other programs are priced separately, with many opportunities ranging from free or low-cost community events to programs in the low hundreds. Required fees and purchases are always disclosed before registration, and financial assistance is available for eligible programs.
We don't know yet, and we're comfortable saying so.
PACK is being built for families in Fort Bend County, and finding the right permanent home is part of that work. We're looking for a space that can support creative programs, welcome families, and give PACK room to grow without rushing into a building simply because one is available.
In the meantime, PACK can happen in all sorts of places. We'll use community spaces and partner locations for workshops, classes, gatherings, performances, and other creative experiences as we grow.
Know a space that might be a great fit for PACK? We'd love to hear about it.
PACK is up and running, but we're still building the organization around it.
Fort Bend PACK currently operates as a sole proprietorship while we develop our programs, build our founding leadership, and work toward becoming a Texas nonprofit corporation. This allows us to begin offering creative opportunities now while taking the time to build PACK thoughtfully for the future.
Who is behind PACK?
Fort Bend PACK was founded by Stacey Hall, a longtime performing arts educator and creative program leader who has spent years creating theater productions, classes, camps, workshops, and arts experiences for children and teens.
PACK grew out of those years spent working with young people and asking a lot of questions about what a creative space for kids could be: How do we make great art while taking good care of the people making it? How do we challenge kids without asking them to become someone they're not? And how do we build a place where learning, creativity, community, and a healthy amount of silliness can all live under the same roof?
But PACK isn't a one-person project. Stacey is building it alongside founding leaders and a growing community of families, artists, educators, volunteers, supporters, and community partners who will all help shape what PACK becomes.
Good things are rarely built alone.
First PACK is the community helping bring Fort Bend PACK to life.
It's made up of families, artists, neighbors, and supporters who want to follow along as PACK grows. There's no cost and no obligation. Joining simply means saying:
“Yes. Keep me in the loop.”
First PACK members receive Trail Notes, hear about new programs and opportunities, and get occasional chances to participate, share ideas, or lend a hand along the way.
And someday, when PACK has been around long enough that nobody quite remembers a time before it, you'll get to say:
“I was part of the First PACK.”
There are lots of ways to help build PACK, and not all of them involve writing a check.
Join First PACK. Volunteer your time. Sponsor a program. Teach a workshop. Share a skill. Introduce us to someone we should know. Lend supplies or space. Follow and share PACK on social media. Come to an event. Tell a friend.
Different people bring different things to the PACK, and we need all kinds.
Not sure where you fit? That's okay. Tell us what you're interested in, and we'll figure it out together.
Our first fundraising goal is $5,000.
That isn't the full cost of building PACK. It's the first pool of startup funding that will help us move from planning into programming.
Funds raised will help cover early expenses such as insurance, nonprofit formation, program and classroom supplies, space rental, registration and administrative systems, and the costs of launching PACK's first classes, workshops, and community experiences.
Some of PACK's early groundwork is already in place, and we're intentionally keeping startup costs low. The goal is to put these first dollars where they'll have the greatest impact: creating safe, well-supported creative opportunities for young people and building the infrastructure needed to keep them going.
Financial support isn't the only way to help. Business sponsorships, in-kind gifts, useful connections, shared posts, donated or low-cost space, and good old-fashioned word of mouth can all help PACK grow.
Please note: Fort Bend PACK is currently operating as a sole proprietorship while working toward formation as a Texas nonprofit corporation. Financial contributions made directly to PACK at this stage are not tax-deductible charitable donations.
We hope so!
PACK is being built with community collaboration in mind. If you have a workshop you'd love to teach, an idea for a creative project, a space to share, expertise or equipment to lend, a sponsorship or partnership idea, or simply a connection you think we should know about, we'd love to hear from you.
You don't need to arrive with a fully formed proposal. Good ideas are allowed to start with a conversation.
The easiest way is to join First PACK. It's free, and you'll receive Trail Notes, program announcements, opportunities to get involved, and other updates as PACK grows.
You can also Follow the PACK on Facebook for shorter updates, community opportunities, More to Explore recommendations, and glimpses of what we're working on along the way.
And if you'd just like to catch up from time to time, you can always read the latest Trail Notes right here on the website.
Every PACK begins somewhere. Ours begins with people.
